New ORchid Grower

Question:

Jackie, If the "stems" that you refer to are the spikes that bore the flowers, then you can cut them off if you wish.  Use a fresh single edged razor blade for the sake of sanitation, and discard the blade when you’re through.  However, do not cut down the canes, unless they become soft or rotted, which is unlikely.  Even if the canes lose all their leaves, you can get new flower spikes on the bare canes.  Enjoy your Den!
