HPS MH light advice

Question:

I have always ordered my lights from Hydrofarm and they sell pretty good stuff… Personally, I believe that a combination of Metal halide and HPS is best, but if you can’t afford both, or if you don’t have the room; I think that an agrosun bulb will be best.. This is basically a metal halide bulb with extra output in the red spectrum to increase flowering. I have been growing my cattleyas this way for about 3 years and they all bloom and seem very healthy..

Response:

What would you like to know aboutthem. I use both MH and HPS. Hadley Cash, owner of Marriott Orchids, has just become a distributor of HID lighting and will do you right on price. You can see his website, and send him your questions about pricing at: http://www.marriottorchids.com/index.html Tony Whitaker

Response:

I am going to put in either an HPS or an MH light for my orchids.  Can anyone give me any helpful comments? Suggestions as to fixture manufacturer. Experiences either good or bad. Is there a FAQ on growing orchids under HID lights? Thanks for your help (I need all I can get) Cliff
