Can you Identify? Flor del Espiritu Santo

Question:

Arhg, the orchid is called that because the inner parts look like a dove (hence espirito santo) nestled inside the petals/sepals. And I’m blanking on the name. Its a huge plant with plicate leaves. If you want one Andy’s Orchids has them for sale. Now if I could only recall the name…!!! K Barrett – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – This is the national flower of Panama, can anybody help me identify its scientific name? also, if it is posible to obtain this plant in the US? The link will take you to a page with a brief biography of a poet and below it there is a picture of the flower. http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Olympus/9427/feuillet.html

Peristeria elata.  Selby’s website says it is hard to grow.  Humm,  I have one in spike now in my greenhouse.  I am excited. In addition to Andy’s Orchids, saw it on the Orchids Limited website recently.
