why persimmon keeps dropping?

Hi: I live in San Francisco Bay area (San Jose). I have a persimmon tree that just started to bear fruits this year. Somehow, the fruits keep dropping. Every day, lots of fruits fell down. I’m afraid by the time it’s ripe, there is no fruit left on the tree. Any idea why this is happening? The tree is FuYu Persimmon. Thanks a lot. -Helen

You may have confused the word ORCHID with ORCHARD.  If this is the case, you wouldn’t be the first and you won’t be the last.  This newsgroup, "rec.gardens.orchids" is about orchids the flower, not orchards of fruit trees.  I am sure many people in this newsgroup may be able to help as many have extensive garden experience, but I am certain that posting this same question in the newsgroup "rec.gardens" would produce lots of possible answers. I hope you solve the problem.
