Bill,   The next Santa Barbara International Orchid Show will not be until March 1998, exact date I can’t remember right now.  If you belong to the AOS and get Orchids magazine there should be a posting in the ‘Coming Events’ section.  Being that you live in the San Diego area you can try contacting Harry Tolen at Chula Orchids and ask him if he knows when it will be, in fact when you talk to him ask him when the next ‘kaffeklatsch’ will be and join him and other orchid enthusiasts for a couple of hours of friendly ‘chit-chat’.   The Orchid Faire in July is not a show but it is an opportunity to meet a lot of orchid growers from around the world who have orchid plants for sale, there are even some pretty good bargains to be had there.  They are primarily located at the Santa Barbara Orchid Estate which, if you are driving up from SD, would be the   Patterson exit off US 101, turn left to go over 101, continue about 2 miles towards the ocean, and SBOE is on the left side (address: 1250 Orchid Dr.) Jim Kawasaki
